Many athletes will sacrifice a “normal” life to train for the Olympics. It’s early mornings, long training sessions, and working through injuries. It means devoting all of their time and energy to becoming the best in the world.

Finally, the Olympics arrive, and it is time to hopefully be rewarded for all of the hard work that it took to get there. Four years ago, a Russian ice-skating duo decided to make the best of the huge Olympic stage. Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov gave a flawless skating performance, creating an electric atmosphere for the judges and audience with a challenging routine.

They skated to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Jesus Christ Superstar” and put everything they had into the routine. Their years of training showed as they performed move after amazing move. But, they saved the best for last — a risky trick that left the entire crowd speechless.
