Aside from it’s uses in the kitchen, peppermint is great to use to fend off pests and mice. But that’s not all. Below are some reasons why you should plant more peppermint in your garden from here on in!

1. Repel pests

Peppermint is a great natural repellent for pests that usually emerge during the summer months. The strong aroma will fend them off. You can also use peppermint essential oil mixed with water as a spray to keep them away. You need 9 parts water and 1 part oil.

2. Keep the pets free of fleas

Take a few springs of peppermint and put them in a bag so that your pet doesn’t bite into it. Then place these sprigs beside them, or under their bed. The plant will help fend off any fleas that your pup attracts.

3. Keep yourself healthy

You can never go wrong with a good dose of peppermint throughout your day. If you’re stomach is feeling upset, make peppermint tea your go-to beverage for relief. And for anyone experiencing stuffiness and sinus, boil some peppermint leaves in water and take in the steam. This will help relieve you of the congestion.
