Amongst the many first is also the ultrasound, the first opportunity to actually see their baby. It’s an incredible moment to be cherished by the entire family. But what if the mom-to-be is visually impaired? For the blind, seeing their baby in an ultrasound isn’t possible and that was the case for Tatiana, a 30-year-old mom-to-be who has been blind since she was 17.
But where there’s a will, there’s a way. Diaper company Huggies decided to do something incredibly special for her so she too can experience all the joys of seeing your baby for the first time, in the womb. They used 3D printing technology to give Tatiana the moment that every mother deserves, and of course, the mom is moved to tears as she feels around the 3D ultrasound, and even determines the gender of her soon-to-be-born baby.
