Appalled by the incident, and the fact that such racism against black Americans continues to exist, the 8-year-old and her mother decided to take matters in their own hands. As per the report, Danee contacted friend Jana, an art teacher at a local school, and told her of the incident. The teacher’s class managed to create impressive, and touching, artwork and cards to give to the young KFC worker who was insulted at the hands of the white man; the children then got together to hand deliver the gifts and tell the man that he is special.
The employee was clearly touched by the gesture and the pool of support, and love, he received from these kind strangers; he could be seen wiping tears from his eyes as the women present him with the gifts they had collected.
Every community should be comprised of little citizens like Autumn and the other students who made the effort to help the black man feel loved. Unknowingly, they really nail the idea of racial prejudices being a negative aspect of every society—Jana’s daughter even mentions that the fact that behaviour like this even exists is outright “silly.”
